Website and Email access

Updated On: Sep 06, 2010 (22:30:00)

Recently there has been a flood of members requesting information on email access.  The most common cause of not getting messages is an out of date email (ie...inactive 2175 accounts) on the user settings within the website.  Broadcast messages are sent from this website and are sent to the address listed by each user.  With that said it is imperative to keep your information updated to include a contact phone number.  Many times a member will ask for information in a vague format.  A valid contact number is extremely helpful in connecting members with the information that is requested.

Website access

Accessing the website is simple.  The username is the first and last name of the member with no space between them. ie.... "kevinblank" and the password would be my IAFF# until changed.  It is important to change the password as soon as possible.  Website administrators can only see black dots in the password line and not the actual characters.  Once web access is gained we recommend clicking on the user settings tab to update personal contact info and email address for update messages.  Please remember to scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click save settings before changing screens.

L726 EMAIL

Each member is provided a L726 email address.  It is not mandated that members utilize the provided address; however if so desired then the email username will be first letter of first name and last name with no space,  ie.... Kevin Blank's email would be "kblank".  Each member is given their password and advised to change it.  Web administrators cannot see what the password is, only black dots.  We can however reset the password.  If this is requested we will use a basic one and advise to change it ASAP.

If a member does not wish to list a personal email account in the website user settings then we suggest using the provided local email account.  We then suggest using the forwarding feature within the account settings of the L726 email account.  It will then forward to whatever address is listed.  We cannot see what that forward address is.

A couple of FYI's

A member does not need to be logged into the website to click on the email button of the home screen.

Broadcast messages from the L726 website cannot be replied to and the sender will show as info@iaff726.org.

When on the email login screen you only need to fill in the username and password.  It will auto-fill the rest of the address when you proceed.

You only need to click save settings once.

Any questions please feel free to contact Kevin Blank 253-720-4363 or email at kblank@iaff726.org

Please read the following information about an upcoming event to support Fire Fighter Geoff Simpson as he seeks re-election for the 47th legislative district. If you can help contact Dennis Lawson.  4thdist@wscff.org

SUPPORT GEOFF SIMPSON
Please join Ricky Walsh, Kent and Valley Professional Fire Fighters, and Fire Fighters from across the state for a critically important voter outreach event on Saturday, July 31!
We will be doorbelling for our Brother throughout the 47 th Legislative District, and then return to the Campaign HQ or suitable watering hole for refreshments afterwards.

July 31 @ 9:30 AM
Campaign HQ:1833 Auburn Way N. Suite E, Auburn
Attire: Union Shirt or Jacket

In this tight race, our direct voter contact with materials and information developed by the campaign can provide the margin needed to send our Champion back to the Legislature. Please give a few hours of your time in support of our Brother that has already given us ten years of service fighting for our issues in Olympia !
